As an initiative to reduce overspeeding cases and accidents caused due to it, Darjeeling District Police has set up two digital speedometers at Batasia loop and Simulbari Bazar.   The Superintendent of Police, Darjeeling, in the rank of DIG, installed the digital speedometers in the presence of Shri Ajay Kumbhar, IPS, Additional S.P, (HQ), Shri Manoranjan Ghosh, WBPS, Additional S.P, Kurseong,  Shri Arindam Adhikari, WBPS, DSP Traffic and other senior Officers.

Routes that are prone to accidents have been earmarked for this initiative.



 Safely returned home !

Naxalbari police spotted a child wandering aimlessly in the Naxalbari market and quickly rescued the child. The child could not say his real name and address. The police personnel quickly began an investigation and eventually found his grandfather. After counselling, the child was handed over to his grandfather.



 Drive against sand theft!

Mirik Police under Darjeeling District Police raided and seized 02 tractors loaded with theft sand and stones at Kadma more last night. Failing to provide any documents, a case has been filed under certain sections of the law. An investigation is underway. 



 Safe Drive Save Life !

: Cognizant of the grim situation of Road accidents, Darjeeling Police Traffic Department initiated an awareness drive to curb the road accidents and fatalities across the District. To inculcate a sense of safe driving and responsible road behavior among the people "Safe Drive Save Life" stickers were pasted on the vehicles and the lanes were planted with the saplings.

 Drive against sand theft!

10.09.2021, DARJEELING: As part of the ongoing drive against sand theft, Panighatta outpost under Darjeeling District Police conducted a raid and seized a tripper vehicle loaded with stolen sand.The driver of the vehicle could not produce any valid documents. Consequently, a case has been filed under a certain section of the law and the accused has been arrested.



 Perennial fight against Substance abuse!

As a part of a drive to root out the menace of Substance abuse in the hills, Kharibari Police acting on a reliable intel arrested a person yesterday and seized 25 grams of Brown Sugar like substance and 15 bottles of Eskuf cough syrup. Accordingly a specific case has been registered against him under NDPS act. Half the investigation is underway. 



 Drive Against Substance Abuse!

As a part of an ongoing campaign against Substance abuse, the Bidhannagar Investigation Center under Darjeeling District Police conducted a raid and arrested two persons last night. 23 kg of poppy straw (doda) and a motorbike were seized from their custody. Accordingly a case has been filed against the duo under NDPS act. 



 Naxalbari Police Station under Darjeeling District Police conducted an operation on the basis of a secret information. During the raid, 110 cartoons of Arunachal made illicit liquors loaded in a Tata pickup van were seized with a market value of around Rs 03 lakhs.The illegal content has been confiscated and a lawsuit has been filed under certain sections of the law.



 After the school was closed for some time, the Headmaster of Kurban Ali High School visited the school and found that 05 computer sets including the CPU and monitor were missing. They lodged a complaint with the Bidhan Nagar Investigation Center under Darjeeling District Police and a case was started. The team quickly launched an intense investigation and arrested 03 people within hours. All the stolen items were recovered from their custody. The accused have been arrested.



 Kharibari police under Darjeeling District Police arrested 04 persons on the basis of secret information last night. Three of them meet at a place under Panitanki to purchase drugs. Substances like 45 grams of brown sugar, Rs 01 lakh 40 thousand in cash, a four-wheeler and two mobile phones were seized from their custody. A case has been started under certain section of the law and the accused have been arrested.



 Holding onto the motto "Citizens First" the Bidhannagar Traffic Guard organized a blood donation campaign at Bidhannagar Investigation Center. The police personnel across all rank donated the blood, conveying the message of being by the side of people.  Nothing compares to the pain of being separated from one's family. That's why When learnt of a lady who went missing, Kurseong Police under Darjeeling District Police acted upon it empathically and launched a special operation dedicated to finding the missing lady. After tireless effort and dedication of the police personnel the lady was traced and tracked down to a location at Chhidarwala Dehradun from where she was recovered and eventually reunited with her family. Today, after observing all the legal formalities, she has been handed over to her family. 



 In a consistent effort to root out the menace of Substance abuse in the hills, Naxalbari Police under Darjeeling District Police arrested a person based on a tip-off and seized 34 grams of Brown Sugar from his custody. Accordingly a specific case has been registered against him under certain section of the law. 



 As a part of the ongoing drive against Substance abuse, acting on reliable intel Mirik Police under Darjeeling District Police arrested 03 persons. When frisked 46 strips of Spasmodon capsules and Winspasmo Forte capsules have been recovered from their possession.Accordingly, a specific case has been registered against the trio under the NDPS act. 



 Acting on a reliable intel, the police personnel of Dilaram O.P, under Darjeeling District Police detained a vehicle bearing No SK 01 PA-0582 and recovered 336 bottles of Sikkim-made liquor that was being transported illegally. The accused has been arrested and the contents have been seized. Accordingly a specific case has been registered against the accused under relevant section of the law.



 On the basis of specific input, a 27 year old has been arrested by Mirik Police under Darjeeling District Police, and recovered 340 pieces of restricted contraband capsules, today around 14:15 hours.The accused has been arrested and the confiscated articles have been seized. Accordingly a specific case has been initiated against him under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, (NDPS). 



 Acting on a reliable intel, Naxalbari Police under Darjeeling District Police arrested a lady near railgate today around 16:30 hours, 53 grams of Brown Sugar like substance has been recovered and seized from her custody. The 31 year old has been arrested and a specific case has been registered against her under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, (NDPS).



 Based on a reliable intel, the Kharibari Police laid a trap and arrested 02 persons last night. 115 grams of Brown Sugar like substance have been recovered and seized from their custody.

The duo of 24 and 39 year old have been arrested and a specific case have been registered against them under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, (NDPS).



 As a part of ongoing fight against Substance abuse, Mirik Police under Darjeeling District Police, acting on a tip off arrested a person and recovered 12.95 grams of Brown Sugar like substance from his possession. The 28 year old has been arrested and the confiscated contents have been seized. Accordingly a specific case has been initiated against him under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, (NDPS).



 Acting on a tip-off, Rangli Rangliot Police under Darjeeling District Police arrested a person from Lower Kamjet busty, Teesta Valley, for the possession of illicit liquors. During their raid, the team recovered 08 cartoons of Sikkim-made millennium Rum and 05 cartoons of Hit beer from his house.Accordingly a specific case has been registered against him under certain section of the law.



 Conveying the message of being by the side of the people, Panighatta Police under Darjeeling District Police, in collaboration with the Social Welfare Group distributed groceries to the villagers. The police personnel took things a step further and arranged lunch for almost 500 people. By the end, the team also offered sanitary pads, masks, clothes and made everyone aware why they are important.



 On receiving a complaint about a fake call that duped of Rs. 65,428 to a couple. A team was dispatched under the supervision of the Additional Superintendent of Police (HQR), Darjeeling, and carried out an intense investigation and nabbed 03 accused from Bardhaman. The accused have been arrested and a specific case has been initiated against the trio under the relevant section of the law. 



 KHARIBARI PS IN COURSE OF NAKA DUTY INTERCEPTED A VEHICLE TRAVELLING FROM SILIGURI TOWARDS BIHAR. ON CHECKING RECOVERED  A TOTAL OF 130 GOLD BISCUITS WEIGHING 21.573 KGS VALUED APPROX 15 CRORES IN THE MARKET AND APPREHENDED THE ACCUSED ALONGWITH MOBILE PHONES AND CASH.
